A. No

Q. Where does the money go?
A. All money that is raised through the Pancake Brunches is given to the local Emergency Hunger and Housing Coalitions.

Q. How can I help on the day of the Brunch?
A. By the time of the day of the event, the sites have already organized their volunteers. The best way to help is to call a site a few weeks early to offer your services. Day of Caring also needs volunteers throughout the year. Contact the office at 937-320-1687 or via email at
dayofcaring@day-of-caring.org, or fill out a volunteer application at the volunteer application page.

Q. Where are the brunches located?
A. The brunches are held at various locations around the Miami Valley. There is a listing of each site on the sites page.

Q. Are you a chapter of a larger organization?
A. No, Day of Caring was started in the Miami Valley and is headquartered in Beavercreek.

Q. Is Day of Caring in other cities?
A. Day of Caring is currently only in the Miami Valley, (Dayton Ohio). Future plans include expanding in Ohio into Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland; into Michigan; and into Indiana. The long-range plans include expanding into other states in the next 3-5 years.

Q. How can my church or organization hold a brunch?
A. Please contact the Day of Caring office at 937-320-1687 or via email at
dayofcaring@day-of-caring.org with your specific questions.

Q. Does every site have to serve a sausage and pancake brunch?
A. Although we encourage sites to serve a uniform menu, it is not mandatory that a site serves a sausage and pancake brunch. The Greek Orthodox Church conducts a Honey Puff Sale every year on the day of the brunch to benefit Day of Caring; one site is dedicated to serving authentic Indian food; and the Dayton Jewish Federation serves kosher food. Or you can also have other activities to benefit the poor and homeless.
